Description

Six late Georgian period Lancashire spindle back dining chairs c.1810. Some very slight differences in design but all in ash with a shaped top rail over two rows of five turned spindles, between turned rear stiles with nipple tops. Woven rush seats (height 17") raised on turned front legs with raised pad feet and joined with a particularly attractive turned front stretcher, plus simple spindle stretchers to the sides and rear for extra strength. Missing a piece of rush on one of the seats, otherwise very condition with particularly good colour and patina to the timber. Cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
