Set of Eight George III Mahogany & Leather Dining Chairs C.1810

Description

Superb set of eight George III cottage dining chairs in mahogany c.1810. Six chairs plus a matching pair of armchairs. Low backrests with curving rails and simple moulded spindles between the slightly sloped rear stiles with shaped pommel tops. Gracefully shaped arms with swept fronts (allowing the chairs to be drawn up to a table). Loose seat pads with attractively worn vintage tan leather covers. Raised on tapering square legs joined with stretchers to all four sides for strength. Repairs to the tips of the legs on the armchairs. Otherwise very good condition with particularly good original colour and patina. Cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
