Chair Stunning Primitive George III Cumbrian Armchair C1780

Description

Here we have a very rare primitive Ash and Elm chair from the Cumbria region c1780. As you can see the chair has outstanding colour and patina. There are extending side supports with naive roundel decoration. There is a single plank to the back and a a delicious thick slab of Elm for the seat. The arms are well shaped with primitive supports and well turned Ash legs. A wonderful example of vernacular furniture in great condition ready to grace any collection or home. Above all the chair could be used everyday it is solid throughout and very comfortable. The dimensions are approx 124 cm high 52 cm wide 50 cm deep.
