Chair Arts and Crafts Oak Monks Seat C1900

Here we have a super quality Golden Oak Arts and Crafts Monks seat dating from c1900. The colour is warm and rich with good patina. The chair is beautifully constructed along with being shaped and decorated simply to great effect. There is a lovely arch decoration with bobbin turnings to the underside of the top/backrest. The straight cut arms are finished with a quarter chamfer and a turned end which although simple looks fantastic and is what i adore about Arts and Crafts pieces. The front legs are again chamfered in that Georgian style and between them some simple geometric carving. The best quality Oak is used in this chair and proportionally even as a chair or table it is just right. A beautiful Arts and Crafts piece in excellent retail condition ready for your home. Dimensions are 44 inches high (with the backrest up) 28 as a table, top 33 inches diameter.
