In A Nutshell Antiques and Interiors has dated this piece to the Victorian era.
The set of 6 are a mix of 3+3 with slight variations on the turning in the legs but the whole set displays very well together and are all the same rich colour. The rear of 3 chairs are stamped with the maker's initials 'BR'.
The chairs stand approximately 35" (89cm) high. The seats are 17 3/4" (45cm) deep, 14 1/2" (37cm) wide and 17 1/2" (44.5cm) high.
They are all in good condition and are strong and sturdy with no major damages. There are signs of age and use, some marks and light knocks on the seats and around the legs and minor old shrinkage splits but nothing detrimental. There has been a small patched repair to an old chip on one seat (see photo) but otherwise no major damages. They have been gently cleaned and polished and are ready for use.
