Personalised for T.E. Crease R.N. - a naval captain in the early 20th century
Broad, tactile carry handle to the lid with brass bindings
Leather strapping navigates across the top and tethering at the fascia
Behind the strap, a circular brass lock escutcheon — key present
Stamped concentric pattern work accentuates the circumference of the lock
Opens to reveal a striking scarlet silk cotton interior, with soft cap storage to the lid reverse
Removable two piece interior suitable for hosting a pair of regular top hats
Replete with straps for keeping hats secure in transit, clasp absent to one side
Unmarked as such but redolent of Scott & Co of London
