Description

A late 19th-century French overmantle mirror with an ornate crest and scrolling acanthus decoration. The giltwood frame is enriched with plaster embellishments, retaining areas of original gilding. The mercury glass plate shows a desirable age-related patina, with natural foxing and wear. A decorative yet substantial piece, suited for placement above a fireplace or as a statement wall mirror.
