Large Antique Gilt Wall Mirror

19th century
Description

A very large and impressive wall mirror dating from the mid 19th Century. An excellent quality piece with its original bevelled mirror plate and boarded back.

It has a beautiful carved wood and gesso frame with an ornate scrolling top pediment with floral decoration. The gilding is largely original and the whole mirror is bright and clean.

The mirror is in very good condition for its age and displays beautifully. The mirror plate has slightly worn and foxed in places, leaving some spotting and marks but nothing too major. There are no major damages to the frame and it is strong and sturdy. It has been lightly cleaned and is ready to hang.
