A Fine Gilt Bronze French Clock Featuring "Attila The Hun", Portrayed As An Archer On Horseback. Mid 19th Century.

The gilt bronze clock is finely cast and in particular the figure of ''Attila'' is beautifully detailed. The case has a waisted plinth base and acanthus-cast bracket feet.
 
The clock has an 8 day movement with outside countwheel striking on a bell, on the hour & the half hour. Circa 1870. The dial has chased bronze dial set with twelve white enameled cartouches and blue Roman numerals
 
The quality movement stamped with the medallion of the maker ''Japy Freres of Paris''.
 
Movement recently serviced.
 
The gilding is in excellent original condition. For condition please look at the photographs.
