''JGP&S'' is most commonly a hallmark or engraving for J.G. Pfeffer & Son, a historic maker renowned for pipe organs rather than standard clocks. If you have an antique clock or watch with this engraving, it may have been custom-built by them.
 
A nice example of a rare hand made ebony and Gilt Portico Column Musical Playing mantle/sideboard clock with ormolu mounts.
 
Very decorative example which is a stunning looking time piece to grace any home.
 
Note the gilt columns are all hand made.
 
Porcelain enamelled face with opening hinged glass bezel.
 
There is a musical device in the bottom case which plays a tune when it strikes on the hour.
