Description

High-back Windsor Chair - c1800

This early Windsor chair is a good example presented in Elm and Oak.

The chair has a 'light' feel due to the height of the back and the fine arms.

Side rails border the straight back support rods which rise from the Elm seat plate and are separated by a pleasingly detailed back-splat featuring a heart detail. All are united by an original crest rail producing a chair which is very well proportioned.

The chair rides upon through fixed turned legs which are united by an'H' stretcher.

This chair is in good condition throughout and will make a charming additon to any home. An unusual and interesting example.
