FAQs

French vintage bedside tables often feature classic cabriole legs, subtle carved motifs such as scallop shells or acanthus leaves, and refined proportions characteristic of traditional French cabinet making.

These pieces are typically constructed from solid mahogany or mahogany veneers over secondary hardwoods, utilizing traditional joinery techniques like dovetailing for drawers and mortise-and-tenon joints for stability.

Authentic pieces exhibit natural signs of age in the wood grain and hardware, hand-cut joinery, traditional hand-rubbed finishes, and period-appropriate brass or bronze handles rather than modern cast replacements.

They provide a warm, textural contrast when paired with contemporary minimalist beds or neutral upholstery, anchoring the bedroom with historical depth and organic wood tones.

Maintain the wood by dusting regularly with a soft, dry cloth and periodically applying high-quality beeswax to nourish the finish, avoiding direct sunlight and excessive moisture.
