Antique Lathe Back Windsor Farmhouse Chair

Status: This item has been sold
Sold by: In A Nutshell Antiques and Interiors

A good example of an antique farmhouse chair dating from the late 19th / early 20th century. It has a shaped elm seat with curved scrolling arms supported by turned spindles. It is high backed with lathe supports and it stands on bulbous turned legs joined by a double stretcher.

It is in good original condition and is strong and sturdy. There are signs of age and use, some minor marks and knocks around the legs, some light surface marks on the seat and some wear on one arm but nothing detrimental. It has developed a lovely rich patina and it has been gently cleaned and polished and is ready for use.

The chair stands approximately 43'' (109cm) high and 23'' (59cm) wide across the arms. The seat is approximately 17'' (43cm) high and 19 1/2'' (49.5cm) deep.
