Description

A Very Gothic Carved Oak Mirror

This is a Victorian piece, possibly Continental it is made from solid oak with heavy carving

The Mirror Frame is very deep but it has been carved in such a way to make it appear even deeper.

The Mirror has three arches the interior of which have been carved giving a three dimensional impression, there is the figure of a Man or possibly Medieval King carved in the centre at the top

This may have been intended as an over mantle or fitted into an alcove creating the illusion of seeing into another room

The mirror is in good condition the carving is crisp with very a few knocks

The Mirror is 42” wide, 33” high and 8” deep
