The Bramah lock still works with its original key as does the interior slope lock, which opens the top writing board to a compartment with two secret drawers.
Inside it still retains the original decorative leather edges surrounding the blue lamb-skin inlay. Pen tray, nib holder and pair of screw topped inkwells.
