DESCRIPTION:
This is a superb impressive and fine quality antique mahogany Regency Twin fusee bracket clock which has been profusely inlaid with brass. The clock is a wonderful design typical of the period and is signed with the makers name ''J. CONDLIFF LIVERPOOL''. The clock is superb having both a pull repeat and a STRIKE / SILENT facility
It has a lovely arched top finished with shaped moulding. The sides of the case have lovely shaped brass decorative fretted sound panels and handles above.
Below the dial is profusely inlaid with brass as are the two front corners which sets the clock off beautifully.
The dial is a white painted eight inch dish dial with the makers name ''J. CONDLIFF LIVERPOOL''. The clock is also fitted with a silent-strike lever at the top of the dial and a pull chord for the pull repeat facility.
To the rear the door has a glass panel to the door which is complete with it''s lock and is opened by a key. The pendulum is held in place by a travel nut when being moved. The movement is a five pillar twin fusee with pull repeat action and anchor escapement, and the pendulum is fitted with top adjustment above the bob. The clock strikes the hours on a bell. The movement front plate behind the dial is also signed with the makers name '' J. CONDLIFF . LIVERPOOL'' this was photographs when the clock was being cleaned and serviced.
Makers details : James Condliff set up his business in 1816 on Gerard Street in Liverpool before expanding to Circus Street, Fraser Street and later Clare Street. The Industrial Revolution had ensured that large numbers of workers were involved in watchmaking in Liverpool, Condliff''s business expanded to become one of the most successful in the country, particularly renowned for skeleton antique clocks and regulators. It is thought that James Condliff died in 1884.
The clock has an 8-day duration fusee movement which has been clean and serviced and is beutifully clean as can be seen from the photo
...graphs and is happily ticking and chiming away and keeping good time. The clock comes complete with it''s winding key, pendulum and two door keys which open the bezel to the front and the back door.

The clock is Regency and dates to circa 1820.
CONDITION:
The case is in superb condition as can be seen from the photographs especially considering it is around 200 years old, just minor marks commensurate with age. The movement is stunning quality fusee which has been clean and serviced and is beautifully clean as can be seen from the photographs and is happily ticking and chiming away and keeping good time. .
