Converted George II Shagreen Knife Box Circa 1740 - 1760

A George II shagreen knife box converted in a later period into a stationery box, in keeping with the style of the original fitting.

Demi-lune bowed case with hinged lid, and brass handle. To the front a brass lock and to the sides a pair of brass swing carrying handles.

Probably English, but could be French, circa 1740 - 1760.

This is an antique and used item that shows signs of wear. More images on request.
