A very rare mid-19th century opaque twist cordial glass.
It has a small cup bowl with an annulated shoulder knop. Sits on thin double series opaque twist stem with a conical foot and polished pontil.
The ''Scottish'' opaque twists almost always have conical bowls but just now and then a rarer example comes along. This small cup bowl is the first example we have had. It has the shoulder knop and very thin stem that is attributed to the Edinburgh and Leith Glassworks in the first half of the 19th century.
A very nice collector''s glass.
