Superb Set of Eight Edwardian Chippendale Revival Dining Chairs

A beautiful quality set of Edwardian mahogany dining chairs. The sett consists of six side chairs and two carvers. The chairs stand on ball and claw feet all wonderfully carved bold and proud, the legs taper up to carved shoulders, all carvered with acanthus leaves trailing down the leg. The backs of the chairs ar fretted and carved in a high Chippendale manner, with copious fret and scroll work carved and cut like the most extravagent of Chippendales designs. The chairs are all in excellent condition of a warm faded colour and with drop in seats which have been newly upholstered to the highes level in a blue and cream damask designed fabric. C.1900
