Description

Handsome C19th set of 4 ash & elm West Country high back Windsor chairs; Provenance Downside Abbey, Somerset; the traditional hooped backs with turned beech spindles, the outswept arms having a useful wide flat surface, on the well figured elm saddle shaped seats raised on ring turned legs united by 'H' stretchers. With a good colour and patination.

English circa 1840
