John Howkins Antiques has dated this Marquetry Inlaid Cocktail Cabinet to the 1930s.
The doors open to reveal a very busy interior with a marquetry tavern scene which opens to form an engraved mirrored drinks making area. The conforming mirrored back with plate glass shelves and bottle or glass holders. The door interiors having further marquetry with wooden shelves adorned with turned columns linked with beaded swags. The base section of serpentine form with canted corners and 2 parquetry and marquetry inlaid drawers with brass handles. The back having a book matched walnut panel with boxwood inlay and joining supporting shaped and inlaid mahogany stretchers. The baluster turned legs with gilded acanthus decoration and the whole raised on short turned and gilded feet. Condition- Fine and with key. Dimensions:- Height…67’’/ 170cm. Width…46’’/ 117cm.
