A pair of late nineteenth century mahogany ‘Cockpen’ armchairs, in George III style. C.1890
 
With lattice work backrests and underarm supports, pierced corner brackets and chamfered forelegs.
 
Traditionally upholstered drop in seat pads finished in a very smart woven horsehair fabric.
 
Reportedly the chairs once belonged to the Sloane Stanley family of Paulton Park, Hampshire (see label).
 
Can be sold separately.
