George I / Queen Anne Early C18th Carved Walnut Tapestry Upholstered Side Chair (Georgian)

An early C18th (Circa 1700 - 1720), Queen Anne to George I period, walnut framed side chair. With solid vasiform back splat, over drop in seat covered in tapestry fabric. Rounded broad seat rails, raised on cabriole front legs topped with carved shells, on off-set pad feet, splayed rear legs, with turned and chamfered blocks. All supported by turned stretchers.

A handsome and quality chair, with some minor flaws, but in good condition and ready for use.

Dimensions:

This chair measures approximately 99.25 cm (39") tall, 46.25 cm (18.25") wide, and 43 cm (17") deep. The seat height is approximately 45 cm (17.75").

Condition:

Please see the pictures for details of the items condition. - This chair is in a good condition commensurate with its age. Some odd minor marks and blemishes. No loose joints. a small repair to the inside of the top of the left upright. A few chips to the carvings and the back and inside of the right foot. Upholstery cover is later, but period correct. Original seat frame. Reupholstered in traditional method. Lovely colour, with good polish and patina. Never French polished. Serviced, cleaned and wax polished. Very serviceable and ready for use. - As with all vintage & antique furniture there will be signs of use, marks, wear & tear, etc.

A 30-day return period is offered for peace of mind. Items must be returned in the same condition as supplied. Return transport costs are the responsibility of the buyer, and original delivery charges are non-refundable. Responsibility for the item remains with the buyer until it has been safely received back.
