C19th Elm & Ash Lancashire Rush Seat Country Carver Armchair

Description

A C19th, elm and ash framed, rush seated, Lancashire type, country carver armchair. This chair feature a triple row of turned spindles back, turned style uprights, open shaped arms with turned supports, over rush woven seats, raised on rounded front legs with off-set pad feet, squared rear legs, all supported by stretchers.

A charming old country carver. In good condition. Serviced, cleaned and waxed, and ready for use.

Dimensions:

This armchair measures approximately 103 cm (40.5") tall, 62 cm (24.5") wide, and 53.5 cm (21") deep. The seat height is approximately 41 cm (16.25") and width between the arms 47.75 cm (18.75")

Condition:

Please see the pictures for details of the items condition. - This armchair is in a good and very serviceable condition, commensurate with its age, and is structurally sound and sturdy. Some odd marks and blemishes. Chip to one front foot, and a repair to the other. No loose joints. Seat is good. Good colour, polish and patina. Only a few very minor, old extinct wood worm holes, not structurally affecting, which have mostly been filled and polished over, and have all been treated by way of precaution and future prevention. Serviced, cleaned and waxed, and ready for use. - As with all vintage & antique furniture there will be signs of use, marks, wear & tear, etc.
