Description

A pair of Georgian period, oak chairs, dating from the late C18th (George III). This solid oak framed chairs features a solid vasiform splat, solid plank seat, raised on square legs supported by stretchers.

A charming pair of country chairs. Full of character and ready for use.

Dimensions:

This pair of chairs measures approximately 94 cm (37") tall, 45.5 cm (18") wide, and 51.25 cm (20.25") deep. The seat height is approximately 41 cm (16).

Condition:

Please see the pictures for details of the items condition. - This pair of chairs is in a reasonably good condition, commensurate with their age. Some marks and blemishes, including possible burn marks to one of the splats. The other chair's splat has a small loss to the bottom left side. Later, though old, metal rods or bolts have been added to the underside of both sides of both chairs. Clearly to keep the joints tight. Likely some losses to the feet on both chairs, one sits a little lower than the other. No loose joints in the chairs. Cleaned and waxed polished. Good colour, polish and patina. Very serviceable and ready for use. - As with all vintage & antique furniture there will be signs of use, marks, wear & tear, etc.
