Regency mirrors, produced roughly between 1811 and 1830, are characterised by classical symmetry, carved floral cresting, and gilded frames influenced by Neoclassical, Greek, and Roman architectural styles.

These mirrors were constructed using hand-carved timber frames coated with gesso and gold leaf gilding, fitted with silvered or mercury glass plates.

Authentic pieces exhibit natural age signs such as minor wear to gilding revealing reddish clay bole beneath, original wood backboards, and subtle oxidisation or foxing on the glass.
