Description

Charming Killarney trinket box profusely inlaid, in true Killarney style, with satin wood, olive wood, ebony and other woods. The top is beautifully inlaid with harps, birds etc with raised cartouche centre depicting Muckross Abbey. Inside the box is clean and has inlaid boarder in the lid with the name M. E. McSwiney carved into the centre. Its stunning sarcophagus shaped sides are inlaid with ferns and trailing shamrocks and a thumb moulded base. This is a fantastic box with great colouring and patina complete with working lock with key. Like all antiques there are some imperfections but overall it is in excellent condition a perfect gift for someone special.
