French Antique Company has dated this piece to the 19th Century.
Beautiful real gilt and bare gesso Empire mirror in excellent condition.
It dates from around 1830.
It has its gorgeous original mercury glass with lovely foxing. Mercury glass was not made after 1840 and gives a sparkle and reflection toon like no other!
It has its ornate bare gesso and gilt frame..a beautiful combination that gives a softer more understated look to a stunning 19th century mirror.
It would make a fabulous overmantel or hall mirror perhaps.
