In A Nutshell Antiques and Interiors has dated this piece to the Victorian era.
It is a traditional shape with an iron strapped frame, a buttoned back and deep seat and the inside leg is numbered "01210".
The walnut frame is strong and sturdy and the sprung seat is in good order. The chair has been part stripped back to its calico covering with exposed hessian at the back and it is ready to be reupholstered.
The chair is a small size, either a child's size or small bedroom chair.
