Description

This is a superb Regency period convex mirror with a most attractive design in hand carved giltwood dating from the early 19th century, circa 1800. The cushion frame to the mirror has reeded ebony slip around the original convex mercury plate with has an attractive aged appearance. The base has acanthus leaf and large stylised sunflower to the lower crest with original projecting Girandole candle sconce. The mirror is in nice original condition overall with a fine and impressive dragon on rockwork to the upper crest surrounded by oak leaf and acorn detail. The mirror measures 104 cms in height overall and 66 cms in width.
