A beautiful and fine quality iron box by the Okuno Co , profusely and finely inlaid in gold and silver . The condition is exemplary , the silver and gold sides of the box have mellowed to a wonderful steel blue colour , the top is stunning . The small and beautifully inlaid feet bear an Imperial mon in the decoration .
Meiji period with Okuno inlaid gold seal .
This box could well be mistaken for the work of Komai , there is a reason . The Okuno Co was set up by the sister of Komai and obviously copied his designs and techniques and certainly kept the quality of the Komai factory .
