Hingstons of Wilton has dated this Walnut Display Cabinet to the Victorian era.
This superb quality Victorian walnut credenza display cabinet was made circa 1870.
The interior is lined in an ivory fabric that allows your collection to stand out.
The shelves in the interior have fine line box stringing and provide a large display surface.
The top has grade 1 burr walnut and is banded by purple heart, that give a wonderful contrast to the walnut and the inlaid panels along the frieze.
The inlaid panels consist of a chain of squares interlocked with amboyna inside as well as purple heart, the panels are bordered by a combination of boxwood and ebony.
It is a rare stunning and interesting design where the cabinetmaker moved away from the usual floral patterns that were the norm in this period.
Not only do you have the marvellous inlay you also have the gilt brass mounts to the front and side pillars.
Imagine this in your home and how wonderful it will look and the pride of ownership it will give you.
The items inside the cabinet in the main image are for illustrative purposes and do not come with the credenza.

They have been used for generations, and will go forward for more generations, sparing the worlds resources. Unlike mass-produced modern items using scarce resources, cutting down acres of forests before being shipped for 3000 miles, used for a few years then discarded, before another load is shipped again 3000 miles.
