Description

Superb Victorian wing back arm chair by C Hindley with beautifully turned and ringed good quality mahogany legs on brass castors stamped "C Hindley, Welbeck Street, London W". The pale green velvet fabric is a little marked (shown in pics) however there is no rips or tears and some of the marks could be removed with a little clean. Could easily be reupholstered in a fabric of individual taste. The frame's joints are solid with no wobbles and only marks/ scuffs in line with age and use. The depth of the seat and shaped back adds not only to the comfort but support as you relax. A very stylish chair that will look amazing in the right location.

In 1844 Miles and Edwards were taken over by Charles Hindley and Sons. Their high quality cabinet makers flourished, earning them a Royal Appointment, and a part in the Great Exhibition.
