FAQs

Art Deco emerged in France during the 1910s and flourished internationally throughout the 1920s and 1930s, characterised by streamlined geometric shapes, modern materials, and luxurious craftsmanship.

Cabinet makers of this era frequently utilised exotic veneers such as burr walnut, macassar ebony, and birds-eye maple, often contrasted with solid wood framing, chrome, and brass hardware.

Authentic pieces are identified by their characteristic symmetry, geometric silhouettes, contrasting wood veneers, stepped profiles, and period-appropriate joinery methods.

These pieces function well as statement accents in contemporary spaces, pairing effectively with minimalist decor, neutral backdrops, and metallic finishes to highlight their architectural lines.

Maintain polished veneer surfaces by dusting regularly with a soft, dry cloth, avoiding direct sunlight and excessive moisture, and occasionally applying a high-quality beeswax or furniture polish.
