This Georgian wall clock is a circular timepiece from the period around 1828, in the style typical of a gentleman's library. The piece employs dark brown mahogany timber, a brass bezel, and a glass cover over the dial. The painted cream dial features black Roman numerals and the signature Willm Strickland London, accompanied by blued steel hands and a side locking mechanism. The physical dimensions measure 33 cm by 33 cm with a depth of 16 cm. Placement suits installation above a sideboard in a living room, hallway, or study. The design integrates easily into traditional home interiors where wall clocks serve both a practical timekeeping function and a decorative purpose.

A Georgian dial clock is a circular wall timepiece featuring a painted iron or wooden dial encased in a timber surround, typically produced in Britain during the 18th and early 19th centuries.

These timepieces commonly feature cases crafted from flame mahogany or oak, fitted with cast brass bezels, glass convex covers, and painted iron dials driven by brass mechanical movements.

Authentic examples display hand-painted Roman numerals, maker location inscriptions such as London, heavy cast brass bezels, and traditional fusee movement mechanisms within a turned wooden case.

Mount the clock as a focal point in a hallway, study, or above a sideboard to introduce historical texture and horological character into contemporary space designs.

Keep the wood surround clean by dusting with a soft cloth and waxing occasionally, whilst ensuring the movement is regularly oiled and serviced by a professional horologist.
