These Georgian English rummers from 1800 comprise a matched pair of clear lead crystal drinking vessels. Each piece displays a wide cylindrical bowl with petal moulded flutes around the lower section, rising from a short stem above a plain conical foot that bears a pontil scar underneath. The transparent flint glass construction shows a colourless appearance with clean reflective surfaces and smooth rims. Measuring 15 cm high, these usable antique vessels are presented in very good original condition. Today, such glassware serves equally well for decorative display on a sideboard top in a traditional dining room or for everyday use during formal dinner parties. The sturdy circular bases provide stable footing on tables and serving surfaces, while the generous bowl capacity suits contemporary entertaining. Collectors of English country house items find these practical rummers blend seamlessly into heritage interior schemes, adding historical authenticity to domestic tableware collections.

A Georgian rummer is a heavy drinking vessel popular in Great Britain during the late eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries, characterized by a large bowl, short stem, and broad circular foot, historically used for serving wine, ale, or punch.

Rummers from this era were traditionally hand-blown using flint glass or lead crystal, resulting in heavy, clear vessels often finished with wheel-cut fluting or pressed mould decoration.

Authentic pieces display hand-blown variations, polished or raw pontil marks underneath the foot, natural surface wear on the base rim, and occasionally a slight greyish or greenish cast under specific lighting conditions.

Display them as decorative accents on a wooden sideboard, arrange them inside a glazed drinks cabinet, or integrate them into formal dining table arrangements alongside modern tableware.

Hand wash individual glasses in warm water with mild detergent using a soft cloth, avoiding dishwashers, extreme thermal shocks, and abrasive pads to prevent clouding or surface scratching.
