We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Victorian glassware encompasses items produced during the reign of Queen Victoria (18371901), characterized by industrial advancements in manufacturing alongside traditional hand-etching and cutting techniques that allowed for intricate decorative motifs.

These pieces were typically crafted from lead crystal or soda-lime glass, shaped using free-blowing, mould-blowing, or pressing techniques, followed by hand-engraving, acid-etching, or wheel-cutting for surface decoration.

Authentic pieces often exhibit pontil marks on the base, minor irregularities or air bubbles due to period manufacturing methods, hand-cut or wheel-etched details rather than uniform laser etching, and appropriate weight and clarity for nineteenth-century glass formulations.

Antique glassware can be displayed on open shelving, within glass-fronted cabinets, or used functionally on a bar cart to introduce historical texture, light reflection, and subtle contrast to contemporary spaces.

Antique glass should be washed by hand in lukewarm water using a mild detergent, avoiding sudden temperature changes to prevent thermal shock, and dried carefully with a lint-free cloth.
