A very unusual and interesting pink marble box with black marble edging. The box is most likely a jewellery casket and is lined with velvet. The lock does not appear to work but the box does open and close with ease. The marble has a great original patina and the two-tone colour and classical design is both simple and elegant. The piece does have some minor chips and slight damage around one of the hinges on the back though this does not impact the look of the whole. The box is a very decorative and unusual piece with a great Neoclassical period look.
