Rare Japanese Meiji (19thC) karagi (wood) suzuribako (writing box) with lacquer (maki-e) peony decoration. The inside of the cover is decorated with cranes. The box has its original ‘silver’ peony-shaped water dropper & inkstone and comes with an ink block. With original storage box. Measures 25.5 x 21.5 x 5cm.
Excellent condition with just a few minor marks.
