In A Nutshell Antiques and Interiors has dated this piece to the 19th Century.
The lid lifts to reveal a mirror below, mounted in a red leather tooled border. The mirror folds forwards to reveal a document holder behind. The top section of the cabinet has been fitted with dividers and lined in blue silk. The doors of the cabinet open onto a series of drawers, each inlaid with mother of pearl.

The bottom drawer contains a writing slope with both of its original inkwells and a gilt tooled leather writing surface that matches the border around the mirror. The wiring surface does fold out to give a larger surface and also lifts up for extra storage.

The whole piece is in excellent condition and although it has been used it has been well looked after over the years. The silk linings have been renewed and the interior is clean and tidy. There are a few small knocks and marks around the outside, general signs of age and use but nothing detrimental. It has been lightly cleaned and polished and is ready for use.
The best description comes from the photos so please look at them all carefully and if you have any questions just ask.
