Striking Blue Enamel Boulle Sewing Box French 1860

Description

A striking rare blue enamel boulle sewing box with elaborate brass inlay arabesques. All sides of this case having exquisite arabesque form ” boulle” type marquetry. An amazing time capsule in this nearly untouched original condition. The interior comprises of all your sewing needs including a silver hallmarked thimble and two mother of pearl sewing reels. A number of sewing tools including a mother of pearl penknife all original. A tremendous piece of history dating French 1860.
