Superb Quality Antique Tea Caddy
This Superb Quality early 19th century Regency Antique Tea Caddy dates from ca. 1830 and is made from amaranth (purple-heart) wood. It has a hanged lid with brass handle and is cross-banded in King-wood with boxwood and ebony string inlay. The interior has two unusual glass canisters with lids and a central mixing bowl. It has aged to a rich shade with a striking grain, good patina, is in very good condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing.
