A wall hung antique oak box of great colour, with a lift up lid and small drawer below, probably made for storing either salt or candles, dating from the mid to late 18th century.A lovely item with fantastic colour and patina. It has a very cute little wedge shape drawer with its original handle, and a nicely shaped back with hanging holes - it currently has a cord to hang it from, but it could also be fastened to the wall with nails or screws through these holes.Overall the condition is good, though there is a damaged area to one side under the lid, and there is an old repair to the lid where a crack had developed.
