Victorian Mahogany Brass Bound Writing Slope

19th century
Description

A magnificent brass bound flame mahogany writing slope that dates to around 1850

It has a deep rich waxed finish with brass corners and bandings, a cartouche and escutcheon

With a replaced antique olive green leather and gold skiver, a set of brass topped inkwells and a working lock and key

A section to the left of the pen tray can be raised to release a panel, behind which is a pair of secret drawers

It measures 16 inches wide, 9 1/2 inches deep and 6 inches high

A lovely item that would serve as a present for a loved one or just to add to a collection
