A fine quality Regency period rosewood and brass inlaid large writing slope. Decoratively inlaid with brass lines and roundels to the front and top, with a vacant cartouche on the top with inset flush campaign brass handles. Inside, two lift up writing boards with a high quality black gilt and blind embossed skiver, a pair of glass and brass topped inkwells and three secret drawers with very hard-to-find trigger for the panel!
The underside of the bottom writing board still bears the original makers label in gilt ''Dieu et mon droit'' & ''Honi soit qui mal y pense'' found on Britain''s Royal coat of arms.
