Victorian Mahogany Campaign Brass Bound Writing Slope

19th century
Description

A superb mahogany campaign brass bound writing slope that dates to around 1840

It is in lovely original condition, in flame mahogany with a natural waxed finish with brass corners and inset military brass handles on each side and a brass cartouche and escutcheon on the top and front

It has two secret drawers that are exposed by releasing a panel under the writing panels, a black tooled replacement leather skiver and has a working lock and key

Comes with a set of original brass top glass inkwells

A very nice item that would make an elegant gift for someone special

It measures 14 inches wide, 9 inches deep and 5 inches wide
