Unusual Victorian Silver Plated Mechanical Biscuit Box

Description

This is an unusual antique silver plated mechanical biscuit box. The curved body is aesthetically engraved with leaves flowers a bird and a butterfly. Standing on four large ball feet. Ebonised wood handle with a horizontal bar that when raised automatically opens the lids on either side. c1880 British made with a registration number stamped underneath and a Patent Number for the handle is stamped on the handle. There is a makers mark for John Morton & Co of Sheffield and London stamped inside the lid. This has been resilvered.
