Victorian Figured Walnut Writing Box

Description

Victorian desk top figured walnut veneered writing box. Pleasing design with nice shape brass work to the slope and rear dome shape box. The box section at the back has a fitted interior for letters, papers etc. The front hinges down to form a writing slope with storage underneath. The piece comes with two very similar ink bottles, one is original the other is a later and similar aged replacement. The box is in good condition apart from the green baize inside required re-doing as what is there is a piece of modern stick on baize. Wants re-doing with either a leather or a piece of proper baize.
