The outside is mounted with top quality cast brass mounts, echoed on the interior with the three lidded compartments also mounted in brass; all having been professionally re-polished to gleam.
The box opens to reveal a leather writing slope, with gold embossing and the top section fitted with various compartments incorporating a removable pen tray and two original inkwells with screw tops. There is plenty of storage for stationery or letters under the top section of the slope.
The box comes complete with a working key. Heirloom quality in excellent condition measuring 13 3/4" wide x 10" deep x 4" tall at rear while closed.
