Victorian Walnut Brass Bound Writing Slope

19th century
Description

A superb walnut writing slope that dates to around 1860

In excellent condition, in a rich light brown colour with brass bound corners, a brass escutcheon and cartouche and a working lock and key

Has been cleaned and sympathetically polished to retain its original age and patina

It has a pair of secret drawers which are revealed by raising the divider to the left of the pen tray, a

replaced antique olive leather skiver with gold tooling and a pair of matching original inkwells

It measures 16 inches wide, 6 inches high and 9 inches deep

A beautiful slope which would make a fabulous gift that would grace a period or contemporary home
